I just read an email from the Board of Realtors which said the Dare County Commissioners are going to hear a presentation by a company which has patented and is marketing a new type of beach nourishment product. Apparently the structure traps naturally drifting sand at a faster rate and deposits in on the beach.
I consider it a huge step that the Board is now willing and IS actually going to consider OTHER alternatives to the pump and dump method, which is so undesirable. I am very happy to see their minds opening just a little! There has to be a better way to get to a reasonable compromise which will make everyone a little happier and be a little fairer.
