Southern Shores beach

I took the opportunity to walk the 65 steps to the beach from Midas Touch (one of our weekly beach rental homes) to see if the ocean was still there. I've been working so much lately I haven't been able to go check. The beach looks fairly good after the winter of storms. The toe of the dune has rebuilt itself with the northeast winds banking up the sand against the dunes and sandfences. Some oceanfront owners have replanted beach grass to stabilize. The beach itself was wide and flat. And Uncle Jack will be happy to know that the birds from S. Nags Head have a home in Southern Shores, as there IS still beach, and crabs, and food for them. Someone had built a sandcastle in an afternoon's well spent frivilous activity.

Is the picture taken from the north or south of E. Dogwood Trail? Looks like around Mockingbird, just curious because I am up by the fire station. Thanks!

This pic is taken at the Purple Martin beach access which is two streets north of Mockingbird, and north of the fire station at Dogwood by half mile or so.
